Why an Art Gift Card Makes Such a Perfect Thoughtful Gift
Share
Even if you know someone's favourite artist, choosing an art piece as a present can be quite difficult, can’t it? You want to give them something thoughtful, personal and genuinely appreciated… but without running the risk of giving them something that ends up politely displayed for a week and then quietly moved to a cupboard 😆
Which is exactly why giving an art gift card is such a brilliant idea... and why I've added this option to my shop recently.
Art is personal
When you give someone a piece of art, you’re giving something meaningful and lasting. But taste in art is so personal. Colours, textures and styles that make one person feel calm and happy might not be the same for someone else. An art gift card solves that beautifully. It gives that special person the pleasure of choosing a piece that really speaks to them and fits perfectly in their home.

Another lovely thing about art gift cards is that they still feel special. Unlike a generic gift card, this one is connected to creativity, beauty and something they’ll see every day. It turns the experience into a little moment of discovery, where they can browse at their own pace and pick the piece that makes them smile.
It's sort of like a double present - they get excited when they get the gift card, and then they get excited again when they get their piece of art!
Art gift cards are also wonderfully practical. No worrying about sizes, colour schemes, and whether the artwork will match their décor. It lets them choose exactly what works for their space, whether that’s soft and calming or something more vibrant and uplifting.
I do think there’s something quite lovely about gifting the feeling of choosing art. It’s personal, relaxed and much more memorable than most last-minute presents. And that's another benefit - unlike a lot of personalised presents, an art gift card is something that you can get hold of quickly even when you've forgotten to plan ahead!
Whether it's for birthdays or housewarmings, or seasonal celebrations like Mother's Day or Christmas, giving an art gift card is thoughtful without being risky. You’re still giving something meaningful, just with a flexible twist.
My Art Gift Cards
If you know someone who would love one of my original paintings or fine art prints, but you're not sure which one to choose, you can now buy art gift cards on my website in denominations of £25, £50, £100 and £200.
They're digital gift cards which will be emailed as soon as you've placed your order.
You can choose to either get the gift card emailed directly to the recipient, along with a message from you, or you can have it delivered to your email address. This then gives you the option of forwarding it on, or printing it out if you prefer to give something physical.
They can spend it on original paintings or fine art prints and on current or future collections. The gift cards are valid for a full year after purchase, so the recipient has plenty of time to decide which piece to get 😊
